WoN Pokemon Rumble Demo Impressions

10:43 am Wiiware

Today I finally got down to playing the demo for Pokemon Rumble and I thought a quick impression would be helpful.

If I was to describe this game with just one word, the word I would use is simplistic.  Basically you have to get powerful Pokemon by walking and battling through various stages.  Some Pokemon will faint after battle and you befriend them by touching them.  Other Pokemon turn into game currency which will allow you to purchase extras within the game.  You battle by simply pressing the number 1 button and change Pokemon via the A button.

Before you can be effective in the Rumble Matches, you need to build up your Pokemon’s power levels.  Rank C requires you to have at least a 100 level powered Pokemon.  By the time you get to that stage though, the demo simply ends and takes you to the shop channel.

For a game that costs 1500 Wii points, I truly could think of better titles that deserves your money.  If it was 500 points then I would consider it for the children but its current price is 1000 points to much.

Just a little summary impression of the full game from IGN.

I liked Pokemon Rumble when I started. It was mindless, but it was fun, and playing with other people made it better. But as I progressed through each rank and saw the same levels, and then the same Pokemon, the experience plummeted pretty fast. If you’re a pretty big Pokemaniac with a lot of friends (oxymoron, I know), then Pokemon Rumble might keep you entertained enough for a purchase. But note that I’m a pretty big Pokemon nut and even I got bored well before this game was even halfway done. There’s just not enough depth to the game to make it interesting to the older Pokemon fans, or really anyone that doesn’t squeal excitedly when they see a Pikachu. Honestly I recommend the free downloadable demo since you get most of the experience right there, and it’s cheap as free.

I passed on the game after the demo. I have too much else to play and
games that I want — and yes it is way too high for what you get.

Definitely too much for what you get.

Perhaps Ninty should reduce the price, 1000 should be the limit for everything on their download services.

    I’d buy it then :P
